In 2023, the import value of solar cells and solar panels totaled approximately 38,710 million THB, reflecting an increase of 6,420 million THB or 20% from the previous year. The export value were approximately 147,560 million THB, an significant increase of 71,240 million THB or 93% from the previous year. In 2023, Thailand imported solar cell worth approximately 15,990 million THB, a decrease of 1,140 million THB or 7% from the previous year, while exported approximately 45,580 million THB, an increase of 17,720 million THB or 64% from the previous year (Figure 2.9).

        Regarding solar panel in 2023, Thailand imported around 22,720 million THB, an increase of 7,560 million THB or 50% from the previous year, while exported around 101,980 million THB, an increase of 53,520 million THB or 110% from the previous year (Figure 2.9).

        This report had assessed import and export volumes of solar cells and panels using import-export value data, from source and destination markets, and international exchange rate fluctuations. In 2023 Thailand imported approximately 3,770 MW of solar cells, representing an increase of 920 MW or 32% from the previous year and exported approximately 10,600 MW, marking a significant increase of 6,130 MW or 137% from the previous year (Figure 2.10).

        Regarding solar panels, Thailand imported 3,684 MW, an increase of 2,000 MW or 119% from the previous year and exported around 8,440 MW, an increase of 4,360 MW or 106% from the previous year (Figure 2.10).
